Camp Retreat Staff Application

Dear Friends in Christ,

Are you someone who is excited about your relationship with  Jesus and your Catholic faith? Do you want to help teenagers discover how much Jesus loves them and gain a deeper understanding of their Catholic faith?  If the answer is yes we would love to have you apply to be part of DYMO Retreat 2023. 

God has blessed us all with gifts of time, talent and treasure. Please prayerfully consider applying to become part of the DYMO Staff.

We need staff members who love their Catholic faith and are on fire for Christ! Attendance at all training session is required (note: one is a weekend retreat).Training sessions include team building, prayer, spiritual formation, and fun! Training dates for 2023 are as follows:

  • Sunday April 15-16 9:00am (Sat)-11:00am (Sun) Lake Michigan Camp&Retreat
  • Sunday May 21 1:30–4:30 pm Ss. Peter & Paul, GR

Sun.–Sat. June 18-24 DYMO 2022 Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat

DYMO Staff Job Description, in brief 

{MI Rule 109 (8)}

Position: Staff Member Responsible to: Retreat Directors

Qualities Needed:

General:

  • understanding of the vision and mission of DYMO Ministries, Inc.
  • ability to work with youth and promote their growth in character, experiences, and insights
  • knowledge of the DYMO program and planning
  • knowledge and experience working with youth
  • ability to guard the health and well-being of retreat attendees at all times

Specific:

  • 21+ years old
  • at least 4 years removed from having been a DYMO Retreat participant 
  • an ability to work in the outdoors comfortably
  • enthusiasm about the Catholic faith
  • dependable
  • ability to work as team player

Responsibilities:

General:

  • oversee a cabin of 8-10 teens 
  • ensure the teens experience a safe, growing, and fun retreat experience
  • work with other staff in a collaborative and supportive manner
  • lead a small group
  • volunteer and help with other DYMO responsibilities as needs arise

Specific:

  • review information on teens assigned to you
  • greet teens and families upon arrival and help orient them to the site
  • communicate and enforce DYMO confidentiality policy, rules, and emergency procedures
  • participate in all DYMO camp retreat activities
  • report any suspicion of child abuse to your DYMO Directors and discuss it with no one else
  • help out where needed in any area of DYMO to contribute to the successful operation of DYMO
